Where to stand
Side-on, 5 to 10 metres away, iPad held still.

Where you stand decides how good the result is. Huddl maps the body from the side, so the camera needs a clear side-on view of the whole student from start to finish.
Set up in four steps
- Stand side-on to the student, square to the direction they will run. The camera needs to see the whole body in profile for the entire skill.
- Keep 5 to 10 metres between you and the running line. Closer than 5 and the student leaves the frame; further than 10 and the joints get too small to track.
- Hold the iPad at chest height, landscape, and keep it still. Don’t pan to follow the student. A fixed frame gives the cleanest skeleton.
- Press record before the student starts and stop after they finish. Huddl trims the clip itself; you don’t need to be tight.
Tip. Put two cones down where you want to stand. Once the spot works, every recording that lesson comes from the same place and the results line up.
