What Adapt is for
Assessing students with disability on the same basis as their peers.
Written by Timothy Starkey · · 2 min read
Our grading benchmarks are built on typical development. For most students that is right. For some, it is the wrong tool. Adapt is a setting on a student’s profile that changes how that student is assessed without changing how the rest of the class is assessed.
With Adapt on you can set goals and track them through stages, record reasonable adjustments once so every assessment uses them, and modify an assessment’s success criteria so the student can demonstrate their learning in their own way. The achievement standard stays the same; the route to showing it changes.
Adapt uses the terms your school already uses: NCCD level of adjustment, documented plan (IEP, LAP and others) and reasonable adjustments.
