PE teachers know assessment matters, but...

problem-time.png

NO TIME

30 kids. A few seconds each.

Not enough time to observe every student properly.

problem-fast.png

TOO FAST TO SEE

Movement outpaces the eye.

Split-second detail is easy to miss at full speed.

problem-evidence.png

NO EVIDENCE

Gone the moment it happens.

Nothing to moderate with colleagues or show a parent.

problem-consistency.png

NOT CONSISTENT

Every eye grades differently.

Gut feel and bias mean grades vary by teacher.

From oval to gradebook in three steps.

step-film.png

STEP 1

Film

Film a student side-on. About ten seconds.

step-grade.png

STEP 2

Grade

Huddl measures it. Then benchmarks it.

STEP 3

Teach

Feedback ready to share. The grade saves itself.

Lab-style biomechanics.
Built for schools.

  • Pose estimation finds up to 33 points on the body in every frame and builds a digital skeleton. No markers, wearables or sensors, and no facial recognition.

  • Huddl measures joint angles, stride and timing frame by frame. That's kinematic data, the same kind of measurement sports scientists use in the lab, so two teachers watching the same run get the same result.

  • Measures are relative to each student's own body, like stride length against leg length. Taller kids don't score better just for being taller.

  • Benchmarks are built from published research across five year bands, Pre-primary to Year 10. A validation study with Flinders University, comparing Huddl against lab motion capture, is planned for early 2027.

  • Huddl looks at how a student moves, not just how fast they finish. Two students can post the same time with very different technique, and technique is what we teach.

Everything you need to assess your students in one simple platform.

SKILL GRADER

Film it. Grade it.

Record a skill and receive an objective A to E grade, with the metrics behind it.

CLASSES

Every class in one place

Import class lists, organise by year level and open any student profile instantly.

GRADEBOOK

Built for PE

Every class and every skill on one screen, organised by semester, unit or carnival.

STUDENT INSIGHTS

Know what to teach next

Strongest skill, biggest gap and the next step for every student.

MANUAL MODE

Beyond filmed skills

Rubrics, scales and checklists for everything else you assess.

ADAPT

Fair for every student

Set reasonable adjustments once and apply them to every assessment.

Skill Grader

Film a student side-on and Skill Grader uses computer vision to measure the movement, benchmark it against their year level and return an objective A to E grade. Every student is assessed the same way, every time.

Classes

Set up each class once. Student results stay together term after term, with the correct year level benchmarks applied automatically.

huddl-gradebook.png

Gradebook

Every result flows straight into the gradebook with its evidence attached, so reporting becomes a quick review rather than a hunt for marks.

Class insights

See where the class is strong, where it needs support and what each student should work on next. Plan your next lesson around the data, not a hunch.

huddl-manual-mode.png

Manual mode

For skills you don’t film, mark against your own rubrics, scales and checklists. Results sit in the same gradebook, alongside filmed assessments.

Adapt

Record reasonable adjustments for students with disability or additional learning needs and assess them fairly, with every adjustment documented alongside the grade.

Skill analysis

Open any result to see the kinematic measures behind the grade, what each one means and how the student compares with their year level.

Why schools choose Huddl.

Here is what changes when your department switches to Huddl.

  • Film a student for ten seconds and the grade is ready. No clipboards, no re-watching videos at night and no typing up notes after school.

  • Every student is measured against the same benchmarks for their year level. Two teachers watching the same run get the same grade.

  • Every grade comes with the metrics behind it. When a parent asks "why a C?", you can show them, and moderation takes minutes instead of hours.

  • See each student's strongest skill, their biggest gap and the next thing to work on. Plan your next lesson around what the class actually needs.

  • Huddl measures the movement and deletes the video. No footage of students is ever kept, so there is nothing to leak and nothing for parents to worry about.

FAQs

  • Huddl will be an annual subscription for your whole school, with three tiers based on school size: Small (up to 300 students), Medium (301 to 600 students) and Large (601+ students). Pricing will be announced closer to launch. Right now the beta is free for one class, and Founding Schools can lock in $399 a year for unlimited classes and up to 1,000 students. Founding Schools is capped at the first 100 schools.

  • No. Huddl is licensed to your school, not to individual teachers. One annual subscription covers your whole PE team, and each teacher gets their own login and classes under your school's account.

  • Not yet. Skill Grader assesses one student per recording, because each student needs to be fully in frame and clearly visible to be graded accurately. The good news is that computer vision is moving fast. Tracking several people in a single frame is already possible, and assessing a small group just as accurately is a challenge we’re excited to take on.

  • No. Huddl runs on the iPad or iPhone your school already has. No sensors, markers or tripod. Just film side-on from the sideline.

  • Huddl uses markerless pose estimation, the same type of computer vision sports scientists use to analyse movement without markers or sensors. Filmed side-on with the whole body in frame, it reliably measures the joint angles that matter for each skill. Every grade shows the metrics behind it, so you can check it and override it if you disagree. We're validating Huddl against lab motion capture with Flinders University, with the study planned for 2027.

  • The video is processed on the iPad and deleted once the analysis is done. Huddl keeps the digital skeleton (the joint positions it tracked), the metrics and the grade. The skeleton contains no images of the student, so no footage is ever stored or shared.

  • Yes. Every skill and benchmark maps to the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education (v9) from Foundation to Year 10, so your evidence sits under the outcomes you already report against.

  • Running is live now. Galloping is in testing, with hopping, skipping and leaping on the way. Every skill goes through rigorous testing before it's released. Soon we will have support for object detection so we can assess object control skills in a variety of sports.

  • Foundation (Pre-primary in WA) to Year 10. Benchmarks are set across five year bands, so every student is measured against what's expected for their age, not against older students in the class.

  • No. Only teachers log in. You film on the school iPad or iPhone and each result saves straight to that student in your class. Students never need an account or hand over any details.

  • Not yet. Huddl runs on iPad and iPhone for now. Android is on the roadmap and we're hoping to release it soon.

  • Only the teachers at your school who have access to your classes. All data is encrypted, hosted in Australia and owned by your school, not by us.

  • Yes. Adapt lets you add reasonable adjustments for students with disability or additional learning needs, so every student can be assessed fairly and included alongside their class.
